Halai wants improvement at Singha 7s final

Frank Halai is adamant his side will have to up their game even further if they are to claim the Singha Premiership Rugby 7s Series title this year. Led by Josh Bassett, an impressive Wasps' line-up that included Rob Miller, Nick De Luca, Brendan Macken and Halai swept Bristol Rugby and Bath Rugby aside in their opening matches on Saturday – scoring a whopping 58 points and qualifying for the Singha 7s final at the Ricoh Arena with a game to spare. But it was not all smooth sailing as Wasps were edged out in the final match of the day by group-winning hosts Exeter Chiefs. And with the club having just missed out on the Singha 7s title last year, beaten...

Bristol Rugby (H) - on sale info

  Tickets for Wasps’ second Aviva Premiership home game of the season against newly-promoted Bristol Rugby at the Ricoh Arena on Sunday 18 September (2:30pm KO) are now on sale at earlybird prices.  Tickets are now on sale to Season Members, Black and Gold Members can purchase from Tuesday 26 July and tickets go on general sale from Wednesday 27 July.  Wasps take on Andy Robinson’s men in the third round of the Aviva Premiership, as the Championship winners make their first trip to the Ricoh Arena. Bristol’s squad includes a number of former Wasps, including David Lemi, Jack Wallace and Tom Varndell. Wasps qualify for 7s Finals at the Ricoh Arena

July 25, 2016

Wasps won two out of three as they qualified for the Finals of the Singha Premiership Rugby 7s at the Ricoh Arena on Sunday August 7.  Wasps beat Bath and Bristol and lost to Exeter in their final game to finish second in Group B. Hosts Exeter topped the group having won all three of their games, but both teams were assured of reaching the Series Final heading into the final game at Sandy Park. The Chiefs took an early lead through Joe Simmonds. Wasps fought back through Conor Dolan and Rob Miller, but crucially Max Bodilly grabbed a try just before the hooter as Exeter went into half-time trailing 14-12. Chiefs skipper Sam Simmonds came to the fore after the break...
