Wasps Senior Academy player George Edgson will join Championship side Rotherham Titans for the remainder of the 2015/16 season.

The hooker has been dual registered with National League One side Blackheath so far this season, but will join up with the Rotherham squad ahead of their game against Bedford Blues this weekend. Edgson is available for selection for the game that will see his new side take on fellow Wasps Senior Academy players Alex Lundberg and Piers O’Conor in the Bedford squad this Saturday.

Wasps' Academy Manager Matt Davies said: “This is a great opportunity for George to test himself at a higher level on a consistent basis. Rotherham is a really well set up club and we’re confident that it is going to be a good environment for him to continue his development through till the end of the season.

“We are incredibly grateful to Blackheath, as they have been really supportive to George during his time with them this season and they are continuing to help us develop Will Stuart and Owain James this season.”

Titans Head Coach Justin Burnell said: “We are delighted to have George joining us for the remainder of the season, he will add to our already strong squad of hookers. He is an impressive young player who is ready to come in and make an immediate impact for us.”
