Message of thanks from Dai Young to Wasps’ fans

Wasps’ Director of Rugby, Dai Young, thanks Wasps’ fans and explains what yesterday’s welcome to the stadium meant to him and the players.

“On behalf of the rugby department, I just wanted to make sure we’ve said a proper thank you to our Wasps’ fans, who turned out in force to support us yesterday.

“You were outstanding yet again and I’m not sure anything could quite have prepared us for the scenes we saw driving up to the stadium, surrounded by our fans cheering us on and waving your Wasps’ flags.

“It was a special moment, one that I and I’m sure our players will never forget. It again showed how much this club means to us all and how we all have a part to play – coaches, players, fans and our back room team.

“Inside the stadium too, you were phenomenal. We couldn’t have asked for any more and we all appreciate your commitment to the team. Whether we were ahead or behind, you backed us just as vocally and that means a lot to us all.

“I’m sorry we couldn’t give you the result you deserved yesterday, but we will now give the Aviva Premiership absolutely everything we’ve got.

“Thank you again.”

Smiling Dai!
