Wasps won the award for their first class match day experience and their fan village at Ricoh Arena home games. The award was received at last night's Coventry and Warwickshire Tourism and Culture Awards. Other nominees in the category included Warwick Castle and Rugby Art Gallery and Museum.
The criteria for the category was a business with a ‘Family First’ motto that catered especially for the needs of children – without neglecting adults. With the activities or experience provided, not only age - appropriate, but also enjoyable for the entire family.
The award was collected by Wasps' Head of Community Neal Coupland and Marketing Manager Martin Fallon.
After receiving the award Fallon said: "We are delighted to win such a prestigious award. We pride ourselves on offering the best match day experience for the entire family at Wasps games and we will continue to improve and add to the offerings in the Wasps Nest Fan Village this season.
"We are also proud to involve so many kids and groups from the local community in the match day activity. Last season our Community Department worked with over 600 children, who took part in Shirt shakes, guards of honour, choirs and mascots before each Aviva Premiership and European Champions Cup game."
